Long Beach Transportation and CommutingLong Beach is accessed by many major freeways and highways including I-405, I-5, I-710, I-110 and I-605. Public transportation in Long Beach is provided by Long Beach Transit which operates 38 bus routes, most of which originate or end at the Long Beach Transit Mall in Downtown Long Beach. They also provide service on the Passport shuttle Downtown, which carries passengers among the many cultural attractions located there. In the summer they provide transit between Downtown and the Alamitos Bay Landing via the AquaLink as well as operating water taxis called the AquaBus. The Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority operates a light rail service that carries passengers to several locations throughout Long Beach and Los Angeles via the Metro Blue Line and the Metro Green Line. Long Beach strives to be bicycle-friendly and has five major bike paths that run over 60 miles. In addition, there are many minor bike paths that connect to the major routes and there is an official "bike boulevard" on Vista Street. Bikeway signs can be seen throughout the city that identify official bike routes. Long Beach is served by Long Beach Airport, which is the west coast hub for JetBlue Airways.
